I hope you're having a great week so far! We have some exciting events soon at Pocasset:

1. Tiverton Fire Dept. Shout-Out: Fire Prevention Day was SUPER on Monday! Many thanks to our friendly Tiverton Fire Department firefighters, who explained the fire truck, ambulance and AWESOME Safety Trailer! 2. CORE Afterschool program: The CORE organization is an organization that supports arts in schools for our Tiverton students. Here is what is being offered at Pocasset.  

Mindfulness and Yoga with Eden Hilario (ONLINE only option) $50.00

Grades 1-4: This beginner yoga class aims towards teaching students mindfulness techniques that will benefit them in their daily lives. We will learn about breathing, calming thoughts, meditation exercises and yoga movements. Each week will consist of a fun theme that students can have fun and get creative with. These pre-recorded videos will be sent out weekly through email so students can follow along!

Intro to Acting and Performing! with Ryan Alexander ( In person) $65

Grades 1-4: Students will come in to learn the fundamentals about acting and performing in the theater world. Throughout the course, we will be doing exercises, mock auditions, games, and performances to introduce the very basics of the craft of acting, as well as to increase confidence in public performances and displays as well as public speaking. 

Runs on 10/4, 10/11, 10/18, 10/25, 11/1, and 11/15

Creating with Fiber Arts! with Brittany Wood (in person) $65

Grades 3-4: In this course students will learn about fiber arts. We will use a variety of fabric, yarn, dye and basic sewing techniques to create beautiful batiks, embroidered patches, and a custom stuffy.

Runs on 10/4, 10/11, 10/18, 10/25, 11/1, and 11/15.

3. Student voting is almost complete! Each month I create a poll for students to vote on Dress Up Days for the upcoming month. For the first vote, we have our 1-4 graders vote (Kindergartener are still learning how to navigate Google Classroom and will be included in our next vote). I will share results with students tomorrow afternoon and will send out to all a calendar of events.
