Chapter C – Hyperlinks, themes and shared borders

 

The Shared Borders command may appear on the Format menu, but it could be unavailable because of other settings. Because Shared Borders is a FrontPage Web component, you need to make sure that Author-Time Web Components are activated.
  1. On the Tools menu, click Page Options.
  2. In the Page Options dialog box, click the Authoring tab.
  3. Select both the Author-Time Web Components and the Shared Borders check boxes, and then click OK.

 

 

Internal link – links to a location in your website

External link – links to a location in another website

Theme – coordinated graphics, colors and fonts

Shared border is an area that appears on every page on your website

 

Navigation view (View>Navigation)

            Not good for large web sites with FTP
            Drag from folder list to navigation view

 

Shared borders (Format>shared borders)

            Allows a header/footer effect on webs
            Includes link bars

 

Link bars (insert>navigation)

            Levels setting is critical

            Same level shows slinks on same level

            Child level shows links below

 

Page Banners  (Insert>Page Banners)

            Identify the pages you are on

 

Themes (Format>Theme)

            Look similar
