Middle School Dedication

Memory of Margaret A. Donnelly

"Researched by Deborah O'Hara,  TMS Librarian"

The Tiverton Middle School was dedicated on October 17, 1976, in honor of Margaret A. Donnelly for her 35 years of dedication to the students of Tiverton.  Her portrait hangs in the foyer outside the Main Office with a plaque beside it.

"Mention the name Margaret Donnelly and generations of people have stories to tell about the teacher and Pocasset School principal who spent 35 years working in the Tiverton school system.

The town's Middle school was dedicated to Margaret Donnelly in 1976, the year she retired. She served on the building committee and worked on the curriculum for what is the town's first and only middle school."

Photo Lab – Memory of Bill Souza

The Photo Lab in front of the Main Office was dedicated to Bill Souza, an 8th grade math teacher.  He died one summer of a massive heart attack at a young age.  He was loved by all the students and was a GREAT teacher.

Courtyard – Memory of Ron Durfee

The courtyard was dedicated to Ron Durfee, and a plaque is hanging in the courtyard.  Ron was a wonderful 5th grade science teacher and was killed in an auto accident.  He worked very hard to get our courtyard completed from the first year the building opened.

Sundial – Memory of Jenny Souza

Jenny Souza was a TMS volunteer who spent endless hours helping teachers, students, office, library, and administration with anything they needed.
