The Student Assistance
Counselor, Mrs. Brown, at Tiverton High School provides assistance to students who
have school-related or family difficulties due to alcohol/drug use and
associated behavioral and psychosocial problems. The program offers
prevention, intervention, referral services, and support to students.
This comprehensive program offers students accurate information about
alcohol/drug abuse issues, provides support groups and individual
counseling for addressing these problems, and makes referrals to
appropriate treatment resources where needed.
Below is a list of the
groups that will be running this year:
Newcomers Group (9th - 12th graders moving into Tiverton from out
of town)
N.O.T. Not On Tobacco (How to Quit smoking)
Seniors Group (seniors experiencing stress from their senior
year)
Anger Management (difficulty expressing or controlling anger)
Users Group (alcohol/drug abusers who want to quit)
COA (Children of Alcoholics )
S.A.D.D (students against destructive decisions)
