ILLNESS – Students who
wish to be dismissed because of illness are to report to the nurse’s office with
a pass from their classroom teacher. If it is determined that dismissal is
needed, then the parent/designee will be notified by the school nurse.
Injuries in school are to be reported immediately to the nurse or to the main
office. In the case of Physical Education injuries, the student should report to
the Physical Education teacher.
DISPENSING OF MEDICATION – All medications taken during school hours are
to be taken in the School Nurse’s office. They are to be given by the school
nurse only, and only with a written order by a physician. The school nurse with
parental permission may give (Acetaminophen).
Students who are subject to seizures of any kind and on medication must inform
the school nurse of the name of medication and prescribing doctor.
