REQUIREMENTS

EARNING CREDITS
  • All students must earn a minimum of 110 credits to be eligible for THS graduation.
  • Most students actually earn between 120 to 140 credits over four years.
  • Ninth graders should carry anywhere from 32.5 to 35 credits.

COURSE LEVELS
  • LEVEL I – Courses are designed to offer in-depth study of the subject matter on a highly competitive level.  These courses are the most challenging in the curriculum.
  • LEVEL II – Courses offer a comprehensive study of the subject matter.  These courses will help to prepare students for college.
  • LEVEL III – Courses offer a basic study of the subject matter and reinforce basic skills and proficiency in the GSE as determined by RIDE.

Credits are earned in 2 ways:

  • Students must complete required coursework.


  • Students complete elective coursework.

Graduation Proficiency Requirements
  • English, 4 years or 20 credits.
  • Math, 3 years or 15 credits.
  • Social Studies, 3 years or 15 credits.
  • Science, 3 years or 15 credits.
  • Physical Ed/Health, 4 years or 10 credits.
  • These classes will be scheduled separately and will be graded separately.
  • Community Service (75 hours.)
  • Completion of Senior Project
  • Fine Arts, 2.5 credits
  • Technology, 2.5 credits
  • Math Related Course – 5 credits (Senior Year)
  • Participation in NECAP (State Assessment)
  • Participation in Comprehensive Course Assessments

STUDENT ASSISTANCE COUNSELOR
