Red Ribbon Week (October 23-31) to raise
drug and alcohol awareness. THS's SADD group is taking this week to
raise awareness about safe driving due to the tragedies that
occurred this past summer in our community.
"UR the Spokesperson, Speak UP Against Reckless Driving".
Presentations will be given in the lunch room to include skits and a
movie. Students will be given red ribbons to wear. Safe driving
awareness presentations will be given during prom season.
The THS chapter of SADD has been running for two
years now under the super
vision of Mrs. Brown, the school's Student
Assistance Councilor. There are meetings once a week on a
rotating schedule. The main goals
of SADD include:
1. A No-Use lifestyle in hopes of putting an end to drug and alcohol
abuse
2. Encouraging talking among families about drug and alcohol abuse.
3. Raising community awareness and educating these community on the
matters.
4. To be informative and to celebrate life.
