FIRST Robotics is an international competition that develops integrity, team work, and interest in engineering fields. Every January, a new challenge is released, and thousands of robotics teams around the world work at solving this challenge. The FIRST Robotics team of Newport County organizes students and volunteer engineers into a team that competes every year. Last year, the team’s robot was shipped over 2,400 miles to reach the two competitions- a regional in New Hampshire, and the world championship in Atlanta, Georgia. Team 121 won the New Hampshire competition, and reached the quarterfinals in the international championship.
