Department Philosophy
The mission of Tiverton School Department Science Curriculum is to prepare all students to become problem solvers and effective communicators by developing and applying their knowledge of a broad scope of scientific concepts and knowledge through the inquiry process, engaging in hands-on investigations and utilizing a variety of scientific tools and technologies.

Students will:
1. Physical, Life, Earth/Space Science- demonstrate an outstanding of physical, life,
    earth/space science concepts.
2.
Connections and Applications - apply science concepts as they relate to the real
    world.
3. Scientific Thinking - demonstrate the ability to use scientific inquiry in solving
    problems.
4. Tools and Technology - demonstrate competence with the tools and the
    techniques of science.
5. Communication - demonstrate effective scientific communication through varied
    methods of presentation.
6. Scientific Investigation - solve problems through varied forms of scientific
    investigation.
