Department Policies
All students are required to have a three ring binder notebook. Any student not prepared for class will result in a zero for the day. When you are absent you are responsible for making up the work. It is expected of you to get to class on time. If you are absent the day of a quiz you have 1 week to make it up. All quizzes count for a single grade. They can be either written or oral.  Any textbook issued to a student, becomes the responsibility of that student. Lost or damaged books must be paid for by the student. Homework must be returned in no later than a day. All homework will count as follows:

Prep and Honors
10% of quarter grade - 1st year.
10% of quarter grade - 2nd year
10% of quarter grade - 3rd year
10% of quarter grade - 4th year

General 1-A/ 1-B
10% of quarter grade

Test/Exam
Chapter or unit tests will be announced ahead of time and will be given at the end of each chapter or unit based on the textbook or notes.  Exams are double in point value.

Oral participation
The oral breakdown of your grade is as follows.

Prep and Honors
1st year 15% of grade
2nd year 20% of grade
3rd year 30% of grade
4th year 40% of grade

General 1-A/ 1-B
15% of grade

Mid Term Exam and Final Exam
Each student will take a mid- term exam.  This will count for 10% of the final grade.  Any student that has an A (94) average at the end of the year, does not have to take the WRITTEN exam.  All other students will take the final exam in June.  This will count for 10% of the final grade.
