Business Department
Staff:
Ms. Judith Moore

Department Description
The Business Department is one of three areas in Applied Learning and Technology where students can acquire important life skills as well as obtain excellent preparation towards business-related programs in college. A unique feature of the Business Department is its affiliation with BCC in what is known as Tech-Prep.  The Introductory to Computer Science curriculum and the Accounting curriculum is articulated with curriculums at BCC.  This means that any student enrolled in either of these courses will earn credits at BCC in similar courses offered at BCC.  In addition, while students attend Tiverton High School they may take any courses offered at BCC free of charge if they maintain a B average in articulated coursework.  One student in particular, Karen Ephraim, has taken full advantage of this opportunity and has earned several credits towards an Associates degree at BCC.  She will probably enter the transfer program when she graduates from Tiverton and in one year will be able to transfer to an accredited four-year school having saved thousands of dollars.
