Text Box: Pennies for Patients Raises
$1,379.53
 Thanks go out to all members of the Ranger School Community for your donations to the recently concluded “Pennies for Patients” drive. We are proud to announce that $1,379.53 was collected and donated to the Leukemia Society. Mrs. Azevedo’s class won the pizza party for collecting over $300.00. Special thanks to Mrs. Wall who coordinated the event for our PTO.

Represents District 
at State Spelling Bee
Congratulations to John Donahue who recently represented the district at the Rhode Island Spelling Bee. John, who defeated the representatives from Tiverton Middle School for the right to compete in the bee, was the only fourth grader in the competition. While he didn’t win, he certainly served notice that he is someone to look out for in the next 4 years. Great job, John!!!

All String Orchestra Concert
Kudos to the following students who participate in our String Program and who represented us at the All String Orchestra Concert: Jacqueline Arruda, Sean Donovan, Aurora Goodland, Brittany Horridge, Keegan Kerns, Quenton Martel, Jacob Nappi, Meaghan Peirson, Alex Ryll, Charlotte Sanford, Liz Sartini, Nathan Six, Lauren Smith and Meagan Wood who play Violin; Alex Turner who plays Viola, John Donahue, Alec Figueiredo, and Emma Panell who play Cello; and Brian Donovan who plays Double Bass.

Text Box: Student Art Work on Display at Town Hall
Tiverton Elementary Schools’ Art Department in conjunction with the Tiverton Arts Council, will be displaying work at the Town Hall starting in the month of March.  The show will highlight selected work and projects from each grade level.  Walter E. Ranger School is currently displayed and will be exhibited until April 25th.  The Pocasset Elementary School’s work will be displayed beginning mid-May and continuing through the month of June.  Fort Barton School’s artwork will be highlighted beginning mid-June and will be displayed throughout the summer months.  When driving by Tiverton Town Hall, please stop in to see the masterpieces created by Tiverton Elementary students.

Students in grades K through 4 are participating in programs conducted by Mr. Eric Bulmer of POW! SCIENCE! Each grade is participating in a program geared to their KITES program. for Heart Association
Our students participated in our annual Jump for the Heart Association program last week. Heartfelt thanks to all members of our community for your continued generosity toward this annual event. Collection of envelopes is taking place this week. Totals will be reported in the next newsletter. Special thanks to Mr. Del Deo and Mr. Murray, our Health and Physical Education teachers, for coordinating and conducting the event.
