Teacher and ChildCare Staff Workshops/ Orientations

We offer action-oriented teacher and childcare staff  workshops: “Healthy Eating Across the Curriculum,” “Food Safety Across the Curriculum,” and “Energize Your Day Care” that provide easy ways for teachers to integrate nutrition and food safety into their existing curriculum.  These workshops may be tailored to the needs of the school or pre-school and can focus on specific subject areas such as literacy, math or science.  Each teacher receives a resource packet including posters and a KIDS FIRST CLASSROOM RECIPE BOOK with ideas on how to present fun and interesting lessons that motivate students to learn existing curriculum concepts plus motivate students to eat healthier.

Staff Wellness Workshops

These workshops are designed to motivate teachers and other staff to work together to make positive food and physical activity choices.  The workshop consists of 3 modules, each 45 to 60 minutes and can be presented alone or all three together in one comprehensive 2-hour session.  The modules are:

·         The Enlightened Diner – choosing nutritious food when dining out.

·         Just Say Go! – helping adults make wise decisions about physical activity.

·         Your Local Plate – the value of eating locally grown foods.
