Accomplishments

  • Fort Barton, Ranger Elementary School and the Middle School were designated as high performing schools!  Tiverton High School was designated as a moderate performing and improving school and Pocasset was identified as a moderate performing school.
     

  • Tiverton High School has the first approved Community Service Learning Graduation requirement in the State of Rhode Island.
     

  • Tiverton High School was accredited in 2002 by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges
     

  • Over 300 Internet connected computers are in our classrooms and labs. Local area networks are in each school and the district wide network will be completed in the year of 2003.
     

  • The graduation rate at Tiverton High School is among the highest in the state.
     

  • During the past 5 years, allocations were increased for instructional supplies by 52%, textbooks by 270% and instructional equipment by 373%.
     

  • Finalists for teaching positions must demonstrate a model lesson prior to being recommended, and all teachers are evaluated sing standards based evaluation instrument.
