The Tiverton School Department values instruction that is personalized, challenging, and tailored to the needs of each student. Across the grade levels, teachers use ongoing, brief  formative assessments to drive and refine instruction to best support each student. Additional summative assessments may include project-based learning, essays, and exams.

Our district engages in universal district-wide benchmarking in the areas of reading and mathematics. All students in grades K-10 are screened with brief, nationally-normed tools that are predictive of school success. Screening results are considered together with student's classwork and other data to determine what personalized supports may be needed for each child. We work hard to personalize supports for each child.

In accordance with federal and state requirements, our students participate in the Partnership for the Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers (PARCC) assessments. We also offer the PSAT and SAT to all enrolled students, during our school day.
