Major Job Function:
Develop and highlight the academic mission
of the Tiverton Public Schools in a way that is useful to
students as well as the Tiverton community. Work with
contributors to build and maintain the web site, and to follow
and apply district web policy.
Webmaster Responsibilities:
• Develop new pages and links for the
district's web site in a way that ensures standardization, easy
navigation through the site, and cutting-edge web technologies.
• Maintain the web site, ensuring that production systems are
available to the public on a 7/24 basis.
• Post changes from contributors to the server on a weekly
basis.
• Post information provided by Strategic Planning committees
(communications, technology, facilities, and standards).
Follow technical procedures as listed below:
Technical Procedures:
• Maintain the site maps.
• Assist in site promotion.
• Provide first-level user support.
• Maintain the search engine index.
• Follow HTML validation according to W3C standards.
• Look for problems and suggest improvements.
• Monitor the error logs and report potential problems.
• Verify that links from the site are live and go to what they
claim.
• Check presentation and readability
